Hard Gel: Thin & Strong Nails
Have you tried different hard gels, but still struggle with lifting, breakages or bulky nails?
The problem isn’t always the product you’re using. It’s about understanding which gel to choose, how to work with different nail types and how to build the correct nail structure.In this training, you’ll learn how to create thin yet strong hard gel nails designed to last 3–4 weeks, while reducing common problems like lifting, chipping and breakages.You’ll also learn how to correct difficult nail shapes, create clean, symmetrical results and apply hard gel with minimal filing.
How the training works
Your learning starts before the training day.
You’ll receive access to my online training, where you can study hard gel properties and watch application demonstrations at your own pace.
During the in-person training, we’ll focus on practical work. I’ll observe your technique, identify mistakes and show you exactly what to improve.

- Thin & Strong Hard Gel Application – Learn how to create thin, strong overlays with the correct structure, without unnecessary bulk.
- Hard Gel Application with Minimal Filing – Learn how to control and distribute your gel to create a smooth surface with less filing after application.
- Working with Crooked & Curled Nails – Learn how to visually correct uneven, crooked and downward-growing nails using hard gel.
- Nail Shaping – Learn how to create clean, symmetrical shapes with straight sidewalls and balanced free edges.
- Nail Repair – Learn how to repair broken or damaged nails using hard gel.
- Preventing Lifting – Understand the common causes of lifting and how your preparation, product choice and application technique affect retention.
Bonus
- Nail Photography – Learn simple techniques for hand positioning, lighting and camera angles to create clean, aesthetic nail photos for Instagram.

Training details
Course information
- Location: 📍📍 Newmarket, Suffolk
- Duration: 1 day
- Group size: Small-group training with a maximum of 6 students. Each student receives individual guidance and feedback throughout the practical training.
- Preparation: Your training starts before the practical day. You will receive access to my online training, where you can study hard gel properties, watch technique demonstrations and understand the application process at your own pace. This allows us to spend more time practising, identifying mistakes and improving your technique during the in-person training.
- Hours:
- Structure: You will first watch a full manicure and hard gel application demonstration on a model. You will then practise the techniques on yourself, with step-by-step guidance. I will observe your work, identify mistakes and help you correct your technique throughout the training.
- Materials: All professional tools, equipment and materials will be provided. You don't need to bring anything with you.
- Lunch: Please bring your own lunch. Coffee, tea, water and snacks will be provided. There is also a Co-op supermarket approximately 5 minutes' walk from the training venue.
- Certification: Certificate of Completion upon finishing the course.
